Overview
This issue occurs when the Google OAuth token used to authenticate the connected Google Business Profile has expired or can no longer be refreshed. As a result, Birdeye is unable to communicate with Google's APIs, causing actions such as posting, syncing reviews, or retrieving business information to fail.
Why This Happens
Google OAuth access tokens have a limited lifespan and rely on refresh tokens to obtain new access tokens automatically. If the refresh token expires, is revoked by the user, or becomes invalid, Google rejects API requests made on behalf of the connected account.
Common reasons include:
The user revoked Birdeye's access to their Google account.
The refresh token has not been used for an extended period.
The user exceeded Google's refresh token limit.
The Google account credentials or authorization settings changed.
How to Resolve the Issue
In Birdeye, navigate to Settings, under Integrations, select Google, and locate the affected Google Business Profile account.
Disconnect the Google account from Birdeye.
Reconnect the account by completing the Google OAuth authorization flow again.
During reconnection, grant all requested permissions and complete the authorization process.
After reconnecting, verify that Google Business Profile posts, reviews, and other data are syncing successfully.
If the Issue Persists
If the issue continues after reconnecting the account:
Verify that the correct Google account is being used.
Confirm that Birdeye has not been removed from the account's authorized applications.
If necessary, revoke the existing Birdeye authorization from your Google Account, then reconnect the account again.
If API calls continue to fail, contact Birdeye Support for further troubleshooting.
