Instagram Error: Review Account Connection

Overview

If you receive the following error while using Instagram with Birdeye:

Review Account Connection — Instagram account connection issues causing data fetch failures.

This error indicates that Birdeye is unable to communicate with your connected Instagram account because the connection is no longer valid or requires reauthorization.

Why This Happens

This issue typically occurs when:

  • The Instagram account connection has expired.

  • Permissions granted during the original connection have been revoked.

  • Your Facebook or Instagram password has been changed.

  • Changes were made to your Facebook or Instagram account that require the connection to be reauthorized.

How to Resolve the Issue

  1. In Birdeye, navigate to Settings, under Integrations, select Instagram.

  2. Review the status of your connected Instagram account.

  3. If the connection is disconnected, expired, or shows an error, disconnect the Instagram account.

  4. Reconnect the account and grant all requested permissions during the authorization process.

  5. Make sure you're signed in with the Facebook account that manages the connected Instagram Professional account.

  6. After reconnecting, verify that your Instagram account syncs successfully and try the action again.

If the Issue Persists

If the issue continues after reconnecting:

  • Verify that your Instagram account is still linked to the correct Facebook Page.

  • Confirm that the account is a Business or Creator account.

  • Review whether any recent password changes or security updates require you to reconnect the account again.

  • Contact Birdeye Support if the connection cannot be restored.

Additional Information

Instagram and Facebook connections may occasionally require reauthorization following password changes, permission updates, or platform changes.

Reconnecting the account refreshes the authorization token and restores Birdeye's access to your Instagram account.
