Overview
If you receive the following error while publishing a Facebook post from Birdeye:
"For security reasons, your Facebook account has limited access to the site for a few days. To learn more, visit Facebook Help Center."
Facebook has temporarily restricted the account associated with your Page. This restriction is implemented by Facebook as a security measure and prevents new posts from being published until it is removed.
Why This Happens
This error is typically caused when Facebook detects suspicious activity or temporarily limits access to your account for security reasons.
Common causes include:
Suspicious login activity detected by Facebook.
Identity verification or other security checks are pending.
A temporary account restriction applied by Facebook.
Repeated publishing attempts while the account is restricted.
Missing required page permissions.
To manage user permissions for Facebook, read our Help Center article: How do I manage user permissions on Facebook?
How to Resolve the Issue
1. Check your Facebook account
Sign in to Facebook and complete any pending security checks, such as:
Identity verification
CAPTCHA verification
Password reset confirmation
For more information, visit the Facebook Help Center.
2. Wait for the restriction to expire
Most Facebook security restrictions are temporary and are automatically removed within 24–72 hours.
Avoid repeatedly attempting to publish during this period, as doing so may extend the restriction.
3. Publish using another page admin (if urgent)
If the Page has multiple administrators and the post must be published immediately:
Use another Facebook user who is also an Admin of the Facebook Page.
Reconnect the Page in Birdeye using that administrator's Facebook account.
Publish the post again.
4. Verify Page permissions
Ensure the connected Facebook user:
Is an Admin of the Facebook Page.
Has granted all required Facebook permissions for Birdeye.
5. Strengthen your Facebook account security
To reduce the likelihood of future restrictions:
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
Verify your email address and phone number.
Avoid frequently logging in from unfamiliar devices or locations.
6. Contact Facebook Support
If the restriction does not expire after several days or you believe it was applied incorrectly, contact Facebook through the Facebook Help Center for assistance.
Best Practices
Avoid connecting an unusually large number of Facebook Pages to a single Facebook account.
If managing many Pages, distribute Page ownership across multiple administrator accounts.
Wait until Facebook restores access before attempting to publish again.
