Facebook and Instagram Error: Unable to Fetch Pages

Overview

If you receive the following error while connecting Facebook Pages or Instagram accounts in Birdeye:

“Not able to fetch pages for Facebook / Instagram”

Birdeye is unable to retrieve the Facebook Pages or Instagram accounts associated with your Facebook account. This is typically caused by expired permissions, an outdated Facebook connection, or insufficient page access.

Why This Happens

This issue can occur when:

  • The Facebook connection token has expired.

  • Required permissions were not granted during the initial connection.

  • You're logged into the wrong Facebook account.

  • The Facebook Page is no longer accessible from your account.

  • The existing Birdeye connection stored in Facebook has become outdated.

How to Resolve the Issue

1. Remove Birdeye from your Facebook Business Integrations

Log in to the Facebook account that manages your Pages.

Navigate to Facebook's Business Integrations settings and remove the Birdeye (or Reviews App) integration.

This clears the existing authorization and allows Facebook to create a fresh connection during reconnection.

To learn more about Reviews App on your Facebook business page, refer to the article: Troubleshooting review aggregation for Facebook.

2. Sign in with the correct Facebook account

Before reconnecting, make sure you're logged into the Facebook account that has administrator access to the Pages you want to connect.

3. Reconnect your Facebook account in Birdeye

In Birdeye:

  1. Navigate to Settings > under Integrations, select Facebook.

  2. Connect Facebook again.

  3. Grant all requested permissions during the authorization process.

  4. Select the Facebook Pages you want Birdeye to access.

4. Verify your Facebook Pages

If your Pages still don't appear:

  • Confirm the Pages are active.

  • Verify that you have administrator access.

  • Check that the Pages are visible in your Facebook account or Meta Business Suite.

If the Issue Persists

If Birdeye still cannot retrieve your Pages:

  • Repeat the connection process after removing the existing Business Integration from Facebook.

  • Verify you're using the correct Facebook account.

  • Ensure all required permissions are accepted during the OAuth flow.

  • Contact Birdeye Support if the Pages still don't appear after reconnecting.

Additional Information

If Facebook continues using a previously authorized connection, Birdeye may not be able to retrieve your latest Pages or permissions. Removing the existing Birdeye (or Reviews App) Business Integration before reconnecting forces Facebook to generate a new authorization and often resolves page discovery issues.
