Overview
If you receive the following error while publishing to Instagram from Birdeye:
"Your Instagram account is inactive, checkpointed, or restricted. Please log into Instagram and complete any necessary actions to re-enable your account."
This error indicates that Instagram has temporarily restricted your Professional account. Until the restriction is resolved directly in Instagram, Birdeye cannot publish content on your behalf.
Why This Happens
This error occurs when Instagram has restricted your Professional account. Common reasons include:
The account has been checkpointed for security verification.
The account has been temporarily restricted due to unusual activity.
Instagram requires you to complete verification or accept updated terms before API access is restored.
Because this restriction is applied by Instagram, Birdeye cannot bypass or remove it.
How to Resolve the Issue
Log in to your Instagram account using the Instagram mobile app or website.
Complete any verification steps or security challenges presented by Instagram, such as:
Confirming your phone number or email address.
Completing identity verification.
Accepting updated terms or policies.
If the account is checkpointed or restricted, follow Instagram's on-screen instructions to restore access.
Once the account is active again, reconnect your Instagram account in Birdeye Settings, under Integrations, select Instagram.
Try publishing your post again.
If the Issue Persists
If no prompts or actions are available after logging into Instagram and the account remains restricted:
Review Instagram's official Graph API error code documentation for additional guidance.
Contact Meta Support to investigate the account restriction, as Birdeye cannot remove restrictions applied by Instagram.

Additional Information
According to Meta, this error is returned when an Instagram Professional account is inactive, checkpointed, or restricted.
Publishing requests will continue to fail until the account owner signs in to Instagram and completes any required actions. If no action is available within Instagram but the restriction remains, the issue must be escalated to Meta Support, as it cannot be resolved from within Birdeye.
