Introduction
Birdeye Insights is designed to help teams move beyond understanding performance to actually improving it. While traditional dashboards show what’s happening across reviews, surveys, and listings, the real challenge is knowing what to fix first and where to focus.
That’s where Prioritized Recommendations come in.
Instead of sorting through multiple insights, charts, and summaries, Insights surfaces a ranked list of the highest-impact opportunities across your locations. These recommendations highlight what matters most right now, so teams can quickly align, take action, and drive measurable improvements.
Prioritized Recommendations are part of a broader shift in Insights—from reporting performance to enabling action. They help answer critical questions like:
Which issues are impacting my business the most?
Which locations should I focus on first?
What should my team act on right now?
By combining AI-driven insights with impact-based ranking, Insights ensures that teams don’t just see problems—they know exactly where to start and how to move forward.

Understand Prioritized Recommendations
The “How to improve your business performance” section displays your prioritized recommendations.
These recommendations highlight the most important issues impacting your business, ranked so you can quickly identify what to fix first across your locations.
Each row represents a specific issue (or category) affecting performance, along with the data and context needed to take action.
NOTE:
Locations with low review scores will not be included in the analysis for recommendations.
How recommendations are ranked
Recommendations are prioritized based on their impact on your Birdeye Score.
High impact → Should be addressed first, as these have the greatest influence on your overall performance
Medium impact → Important issues that can drive meaningful improvement and should be addressed after high-impact items
Low impact → Lower-priority issues that can be monitored or addressed over time
Use this field to determine which recommendations to act on first.
Understand each field in the recommendations table
Each recommendation includes the following fields:

The Category (shown under Challenges) represents the type of issue identified, such as:

Cleanliness
These categories are derived from customer feedback across reviews and surveys.

This helps you understand:
The volume of complaints
Whether the issue is increasing or decreasing over time

The available options include:
Email – Send recommendation insights to stakeholders directly from Birdeye.

Add to dashboard – Save the recommendation widget to a dashboard. When added to a dashboard, the recommendation widget becomes available under Reports, allowing you to track and share performance insights alongside your other business metrics.

How to decide what to act on first
To prioritize effectively:
Start with recommendations marked as High impact
Focus on issues affecting multiple locations
Look for categories with high negative mentions
This ensures your team is working on the changes that will deliver the biggest business impact first.
Filter recommendations by location and date
You can refine your recommendations to focus on specific locations or time periods using filters.
Click the filter icon at the top right of the Recommendations screen.
Filter by location
Under Location, select one or more locations to view recommendations specific to those locations.
This helps you:
Focus on region-specific issues
Assign actions to the right teams or stores
Filter by date range
Use the date filter (for example, Last 90 days) to analyze recommendations within a specific time period.
You can:
Choose from predefined ranges like Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Last 90 days, and more.
Set a custom date range by selecting a start date and end date, then clicking Set range
Filter by Hierarchy
If your account uses a business hierarchy, you can filter recommendations and view insights at different hierarchy levels.
Use the Hierarchy filter to switch between available hierarchy levels, such as:
By Location
By Franchise Group
By Regional VP
By Region
This allows you to analyze recommendations, challenges, and performance trends for specific groups of locations rather than viewing data only at the individual location level.
NOTE:
Hierarchy filters are available only if a business hierarchy has been configured for your account. To learn how to configure hierarchy in Birdeye, refer to the article: How can I change the business hierarchy within my account?
