Understanding Birdeye Score

Everything you need to understand your Birdeye Score.

Updated today

The Birdeye Score is a comprehensive metric that evaluates a business's online health and customer experience in real time. Analyzing data from online reviews, surveys, and local SEO provides a clear and actionable understanding of how customers discover and perceive a brand.

Combining three key components—Sentiment Score, Reputation Score, and Listing Score—it offers insights that enable businesses to compare their performance against competitors and industry benchmarks. With AI-powered recommendations, the Birdeye Score empowers enterprises to enhance online visibility, improve customer experience, and drive revenue growth.

To Check Your Birdeye Score

Navigate to the Insights AI tab on the left-hand navigation rail and click on it to open the dashboard view.

In the Birdeye Score widget, you will see your overall score displayed prominently.

Birdeye Score Overview

The Birdeye Score provides a real-time view of your business’s online health, calculated as the average of three key metrics:

  • Sentiment Score

  • Reputation Score

  • Listing Score

Each metric contributes equally, one-third of each score. For example, a score of 57.8 (yellow) reflects moderate performance.

Score Indicators

  • 0-45 (Red): Need improvement

  • 46-75 (Yellow): Moderate performance

  • 76-100 (Green): Good online health

The +0.1 indicates the change in the Birdeye Score over the selected period (e.g., the last 90 days). In this example, the score has increased by 0.1 during that timeframe.

Industry Benchmarking

The Birdeye Score also allows you to benchmark your business’s performance against your industry. In the same widget, you will notice:

  • A 'You' symbol representing your score

  • The industry average, calculated by aggregating scores from businesses in the same industry

The system analyzes customer feedback precisely using advanced AI models tailored for specific industries, capturing nuances such as context, tone, and industry-specific terminology.

Key Components of the Birdeye Score

1. Sentiment Score

This score consolidates customer feedback from online reviews and surveys into one repository. It offers deep insights into customer perceptions, broken down by:

  • Brand

  • Locations

  • Categories

  • Review sources

2. Reputation Score

This metric provides a holistic view of your online reputation by analyzing:

  • Star ratings

  • Review counts

  • Responses across all sources

Automatically collected data allows you to track and enhance your reputation over time.

3. Listing Score

The Listing Score reflects the accuracy and completeness of your online presence, including:

  • Google Business Profiles

  • Keyword rankings for local SEO
Unlike the Reputation and Sentiment Scores, we do not benchmark the Listing Score against the industry. As someone wisely put it, 'Authenticity cannot be compared.'
