Birdeye Social lets you organize locations into groups, making it easier to publish posts across multiple locations at once. Instead of selecting individual locations every time you create a post, you can create reusable location groups and publish content to all locations in the selected group. Any updates made to a group are automatically reflected in future scheduled posts, helping you save time and simplify social publishing.
Create Location Groups
Navigate to 'Settings,' click 'Accounts,' and then select 'Groups.'
After being redirected to the groups page, you will see a list of created groups. Click 'Create group.'
If no groups exist, you will find a 'Create Group' button, as shown in the image.
Click Create group, then choose the type of group you want to create:
Static group – Manually select the locations you want to include in the group.
Dynamic group – Automatically include locations based on custom fields or configured filters.
Create a static group
A static group lets you manually select the locations you want to include. The group membership remains unchanged until you manually add or remove locations.
Enter a name for the group.
Under Choose the locations for this group, search for and select the locations you want to include. You can also click Select all to add every available location.
Click Create.
Create a dynamic group
A dynamic group automatically updates its locations based on filters or location field values. As your location data changes, the group membership is updated automatically without requiring manual changes.
Choose one of the following dynamic group types:
Dynamic group by filter – Creates a group using filters. Locations are automatically added to or removed from the group when the filter criteria or location data changes.
Dynamic groups by field – Creates separate groups based on a selected location field. Groups are automatically updated when field values change, and new groups are created when new field values become available.
Select the desired group type and click Select.
Create a dynamic group by filter
A Dynamic group by filter automatically includes locations that match one or more filter conditions. Whenever a location starts matching (or no longer matches) the defined criteria, the group's membership is updated automatically.
Enter a name for the group.
Under Add conditions, configure the filter criteria:
Select the custom field you want to filter by.
Choose an operator (for example, is).
Select the corresponding value.
For example, configure the filter as:
Preferred Social Site is Instagram.
Click Add filter to add additional filter conditions or create a Filter group to build more advanced filtering logic.
As you configure the filters, the Locations section automatically updates to display all locations that match the selected criteria.
Review the matching locations and click Create group. The dynamic group is created and automatically stays up to date as location data changes.
Create a dynamic group by field
A Dynamic group by field automatically creates a separate group for each value in a selected custom field. As new field values are added or existing values change, the corresponding groups are created or updated automatically.
From the Select field drop-down, choose the custom field you want to use for generating groups.
For example, select Preferred Social Site.
Birdeye automatically generates a preview of the groups based on the selected field. Each unique field value becomes a separate group.
For example, selecting Preferred Social Site creates individual groups for Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
If any locations do not have a value for the selected field, Birdeye displays a notification. Click Review locations to identify those locations and update the missing field values if needed.
Review the generated groups and click Create group.
The groups are created automatically and remain synchronized as field values are updated or new values are added.
Hover over the 'three-dot' icon, and click on the 'Actions' dropdown arrow. You will view three options: Edit, Delete, or Duplicate available under the three dots in the group row.
Edit: opens the edit drawer, allowing you to change the group name or add/delete locations.
Duplicate: creates a copy of the existing group.
Delete: removes the group.
Manage Groups
After creating a group, hover over the desired group and click the three-dot (︙) menu next to the group to view the available actions.
The available actions depend on the group type:
Static groups
For Static groups, you can:
Edit – Rename the group or add and remove locations.
Delete – Permanently remove the group.
Dynamic groups by filter
For Dynamic groups by filter, you can:
Edit – Modify the filters used to define the group. The locations update automatically based on the revised filter criteria.
Delete – Permanently remove the group.
Dynamic groups by field
For Dynamic groups by field, you can:
View details – View the field used to generate the groups and the groups created from each field value.
How group updates affect scheduled posts
When you schedule posts using a location group, Birdeye stores the group instead of a fixed list of locations. If you later add or remove locations from that group, all future scheduled posts using the group are updated automatically. This eliminates the need to edit each scheduled post individually and ensures your posts always target the latest group members.
Create a social post using groups
After creating a group, you can use it to publish a post to multiple locations at once.
Navigate to Social AI and click Create post.
Select the social network you want to publish to, then click the All locations drop-down.
Select Groups, choose one or more groups, and click Apply.
The locations associated with the selected group are automatically loaded. Complete your post by adding your content, media, and other publishing details.

Calendar filtering
Navigate to the 'Calendar,' apply the group filter by clicking on the 'Filter' icon to check posts scheduled for that group. You can filter all posts by group name. Once you are finished, click 'Apply.'
