How to enable texting on your business landline number?

With a fully platform-hosted solution, you can set up text messaging on your business landline number right from the Birdeye account. To enable texting on your business landline number, Birdeye has a simple three-step process that customers can initiate right from their Birdeye account.

This is only available for the United States.

ENABLE TEXTING ON LANDLINE

  1. Click on the ‘Settings’ tab. 
  2. Select the location of your business under the ‘Location’ tab. 
  3. Click on the ‘Change to landline number’ link.
  4. Verify your number. 
  5. You will receive a call to verify your number, a code will display.
  6. Enter ‘Code’ on your phone. 
  7. Click on the ‘Verification complete’ button.
  8. ‘Sign’ the letter of authorization.
  9. Enter your ‘Job Title’, ‘Phone Number’, and ‘Email Address.’ 
  10. Click on the ‘Send Email’ button to complete.

NOTE:

  1. The letter of authorization from Birdeye will be sent to the email mentioned in the box. 
  2. After the authorization request is complete, a success message will appear under your business profile.
  3. It might take up to 24-48 hours to enable business texting on your landline number.

Does the service incur any additional charge within my Birdeye billing?

No, Birdeye does not incur any additional charges for the service.

Does it change the way I use my landline today for voice? 

No, the use of voice calls will not be hampered. 

Does it change any carrier billing or terms?

No, it does not change anything attached to your carrier billing or terms.

Is there any special hardware or technical expertise needed?

No, Birdeye ensures you do not need any special hardware or technical expertise to set the service on your business landline.

What type of numbers are supported? 

The service is exclusive to landline and VoIP numbers only. Birdeye does not support business texting on numbers that are mobile phones, toll-free, or any extension lines. For more information on Birdeye Texting Number reach out to support@birdeye.com 

DISPLAY TEXTING NUMBER ON REVIEW PROFILE

Birdeye now allows businesses to display texting numbers on the review profile, enabling customers to get in touch with businesses instantly. The new feature enhances the customer experience and promotes ease of use among customers. 

  1. Go to the ‘Settings’ tab.
  2. On the new page, scroll down to the ‘Birdeye Listing’ section.
  3. Click the ‘Gear Icon’ on the right. 
  4. On the new page, scroll down to the ‘Show texting number’  toggle option and turn it on.

Birdeye Review Profile will start displaying a ‘Text Business’ button, enabling end-users to text businesses from the review profile itself.
