How do I add competitors to my Birdeye account?

Competitive analysis is one of the most important tools a business can use to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the competitors for product enhancement and strategic planning. By monitoring your competitors closely, you can understand customer needs and prepare a future roadmap for delivery.

ADDING COMPETITORS

The first step to begin competitive analysis is to add all the competitors to your Birdeye account. To begin, click on the 'Settings' tab on the left navigation rail, go to the 'Competitors' section, and click on 'Manage competitors.'

To begin adding competitors, click on the 'Add Competitors' button.

The first step is to add the competitor's name, once you have added the name to the list, click on 'Save'.

Hover over the three-dot icon next to the competitor's name and click on the 'Setup' option to add locations for the competitor.

The page for the competitor will be blank, to continue adding locations click on the 'Add location' button.

The first method allows you to add a single location conveniently. To add a location using this method, click on the 'Add location' button on the 'Setup competitors' page.

Once on this page, add the location name, country, phone, and zip for the location you want to add and click on 'Save'. The added information will be populated within the dashboard in a few minutes.

The second method allows you to add locations for the specified competitor using bulk excel upload. To add locations using this method, download the excel sheet using the 'Download this template' hyperlink.

The first tab on the excel sheet will have instructions to fill information for the competitor. Click on 'Enable Editing' to start making changes to the file.

The second tab labeled as 'Specifications' gives you the option to select the fields that you wish to include or exclude during the manual upload. The first three fields in the excel sheet are turned 'On' by default, you can mark 'Y' or 'N' to include additional fields for the bulk upload. Once you have specified the fields, click on the 'Setup business' button to add information for the specified fields. You will be taken to the next tab on the spreadsheet where you can add data.

Fill the business information for your competitor's locations in this 'Setup business' tab. Once you have added the required information, save the file excel file for upload.

On the 'Setup competitors' tab click on 'Upload file' to upload the excel to the Birdeye database. Once you have uploaded the excel file, the requested locations will be added shortly.
