Facebook Error: "One or more tokens in the post do not contain a value. Update your Business Profile and try again."

Overview

If you receive the following error while publishing a Facebook post from Birdeye:

"One or more tokens in the post do not contain a value. Update your Business Profile and try again."

Your post contains one or more personalized tokens (placeholders) that cannot be replaced because the corresponding Business Profile information is missing or empty.

Why This Happens

This error occurs when your post includes personalized tokens, such as your business name, phone number, or address, but the corresponding fields in your Business Profile are blank.

For example, if your post contains a token like {business_name} and the Business Name field is empty, Facebook cannot publish the post.

How to Resolve the Issue

1. Open your Business Information settings

In Birdeye, navigate to:

Settings, select Business, choose the desired business location, and you will be redirected to your Business Profile page.

2. Verify the fields used in your post

Review the personalized tokens used in your post and ensure the corresponding Business Profile fields contain valid information.

Common fields include:

  • Business name

  • Phone number

  • Address

  • Website

If any required field is empty, add the appropriate value and save your changes.

3. Save your Business Profile

After updating the required information, save your Business Profile.

4. Publish the post again

Return to your post and try publishing it again.

If the Issue Persists

Review your post for any personalized tokens that may reference empty or unsupported Business Profile fields. Update the missing information or remove the unused token before publishing again.

Additional Information

Personalized tokens automatically insert information from your Business Profile into your social posts. If a token references a field that has no value, the post cannot be published until the required information is added or the token is removed.
