How to Download Locations and Update Business Data for Enterprise Shell Accounts (Resellers Only)

Updated over a week ago

Customers with multi-location businesses (Enterprise Shell accounts) may need to download locations or update their full list of businesses. However, downloading from the incorrect section may result in incomplete or incorrect data. This article explains the correct methods for downloading and updating location lists for both single-location and multi-location accounts.

What is an Enterprise Shell?

An Enterprise Shell is a parent business record that contains multiple underlying locations.

On the Businesses tab, an Enterprise Shell appears as one business, even though it may contain many child locations.

For example, in the image below, Tommy’s Express® Car Wash (10) displays as a single business record. However, the ‘(10)’ indicates that this business contains 10 individual child locations under the same enterprise.

Using Update Businesses

Enterprise Shells group multiple locations into one business record, downloading from Businesses → Update businesses will only return the top-level business list — not all underlying locations.

Here’s how the business list appears. You can modify and update the business-level data in the sheet.

Updating Locations in the Enterprise Shell

Click the Enterprise Shell parent.

You will view a business-level dashboard. Go to ‘Settings’ and click ‘Business.’

You will view all the locations present under the enterprise shell. Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner and select ‘Bulk update via UI’ or ‘Bulk update via xls’ to update the locations.

To learn how to update the locations via bulk options, refer to the article: How to use bulk actions to update business locations.

Downloading Locations

To download the full list of every location present in every enterprise shell, you must use the Locations tab.

At the home page of the reseller-level dashboard, click ‘Locations.’

In the ‘All locations’ tab, click the three vertical dots and select ‘Download.’

You will view all the locations downloaded in the XLS format. In this case, the list of all 2260 locations has been downloaded.

NOTE:

You cannot update or modify locations from here.
