How to Integrate Social Media Page(s) with Birdeye

Birdeye seamlessly integrates with your social media pages for each business location to help you promote branded content more effectively. For example, when Facebook is connected as a social channel, the integration enables the following automated functions directly from your Birdeye account:

  1. Promote your best reviews collected from other review sites and publish them as posts on your company's social media pages.
  2. The integration with your Facebook account allows Birdeye to fetch reviews from your integrated Facebook pages to make them available within your Birdeye account.
  3. Once integrated, you will be able to respond to business reviews posted on your Facebook pages within your Birdeye account.
  4. It also gives you the ability to publish branding content on your Facebook page(s) with ease. Once published, you can engage with your followers directly within your Birdeye account. Social AI must be purchased to access this feature.

NOTE:

Every business needs to follow a two-tier process to fetch reviews from their Facebook page.

Tier -1: Add the Facebook page to review monitoring.
Tier -2: Integrate the Facebook page.

To learn how to add your Facebook page to review monitoring, read the help centre article: How do I add or delete a review site from monitoring?

Integrating Social Page

Go to 'Settings', click ‘Integrations’, and select the social channel. For example, select ‘Facebook.’ The integration process is the same for all social channels.

Click ‘Add Facebook page.’

Log in to your Facebook account. If you are already logged in, select the social page to continue.

Click ‘Continue.’

Select the page(s) you want to provide access to and click ‘Continue.’

Select ‘Opt in to all current and future Businesses,’ or ‘Opt in to current Businesses only.’ Click ‘Continue.’

Opt in to all current and future Businesses—this will give Reviews App access to your current Businesses and any Businesses that you create in the future.

Opt in to current Businesses only— this will only give Reviews App access to the Businesses you select.

Click ‘Save.’

You will be automatically redirected back to the Birdeye app with a successful notification indicating ‘1 Facebook page added.’ Click ‘Done.’

NOTE:

A ‘Green dot’ next to the page name indicates that the integration is successful, and a ‘Red dot’ indicates a broken integration..

Map Locations

The users can map their social pages with their business locations under the ‘Map locations’ section. Click ‘Select location’ and select the appropriate location from the dropdown to map the location with the social page.

Ensure the address from your social page matches the location. If it’s not, a pop-up will indicate, ‘Is this the right location?’ Click ‘Map’ to map the location.

  • This allows you to personalize social content at scale using custom location tokens.
  • It also provides location-specific insights into your social media performance.

Here’s an example of a social page mapped to the right business location, as both have the same address.

You can view who added the page under the ‘Added by’ section.

Remove Page and Mapping

Hover over the page, and you will view options to ‘Remove mapping’ and ‘Remove page.’

If a user clicks on ‘Remove mapping’ the page remains integrated but the mapping with business location is removed. As you notice, in the image below, the mapping has been removed, and you will have to choose the location again to map.

Clicking ‘Remove page’ will delete the page that has been integrated, and you will have to integrate it again.

We removed the ‘Infinity Healthcare’ page, and it has been completely removed from the Facebook pages.

If a social page is integrated but has no mapped location, you will view only the ‘Remove page’ option.

Filters

Click the filter icon and select ‘Status.’

You can filter social pages by status— ‘Connected’ or ‘Disconnected’ and click ‘Apply.’ Selecting ‘Connected’ will show all connected pages, while ‘Disconnected’ will display pages that are not connected.

Click on 'Added by' and select username(s) to view the social pages added by those specific users.

Click ‘Mapping overview’ and select ‘Mapped’ or ‘Unmapped’ pages. Click ‘Mapped pages’ to view pages that are mapped to locations, and click ‘Unmapped pages’ to view pages that are not mapped.

Bulk Import Mapping

Click ‘Unmapped locations’ to download an Excel file of all unmapped locations.

The ‘Unmapped locations' tab displays the business location names along with the location ID(s).

Click the three vertical dots and select ‘Import location mapping’ to map locations in bulk.

Click ‘mapping spreadsheet’ to download a sample spreadsheet.

Once you open the downloaded mapping spreadsheet, you will view four tabs in the spreadsheet - ‘Mapping, Pages list, Locations, and Instructions.’

Mapping - In the ‘Mapping’ tab, it is mandatory to add ‘Business ID’ under the Business ID column. Business ID is also known as your location ID. Under the social page ID, which is Facebook, enter the Facebook Page ID. You can copy the Facebook page ID from the second tab, ‘Pages list,’ which we will explore below.

Pages list - This tab contains a list of only unmapped pages that can be used for mapping. You can copy the Facebook page ID from here and paste it in the ‘Mapping’ tab under the Facebook page ID.

Locations - This tab allows the user to view the unmapped location names and their location IDs, which are Business IDs. The user can copy the location ID from here and paste it under the ‘Business ID’ column corresponding to the Facebook page ID in the ‘Mapping’ tab, the first tab of the sheet.

Instructions - This tab gives you an overview of the functions of the other three tabs: Pages List, Mapping, and Locations.

Once the changes are made under the ‘Mapping’ tab, click ‘Upload spreadsheet’ and select the same file to upload.

Review the ‘Business ID, Facebook ID’ and click ‘Next.’

Click ‘Import.’

Depending on the data the user is importing, the import might take seconds to a few minutes. Once it is done, you will view ‘Your import is complete,’ and the number of rows and mappings added.
