How to restrict communication?
Birdeye provides a user-friendly campaign and automation management system that allows business owners to communicate via email and text. Users can manage the communications to the contacts added on the 'Manage campaigns' page.
Birdeye allows you to restrict communication within your Birdeye account to avoid repetitive follow-ups and review request emails or texts to the contacts.
Log in to your Birdeye account and click 'Campaigns.'
Click on the ‘Gear icon.’
Toggle the switch to limit communication.
Case No. 1
Click the dropdown button and set the limit for the number of days to send one email and one text per contact.
The settings in the image below suggest that ‘One email and text are allowed to be sent every 30 days per contact, irrespective of location and campaign type.’
For example, if you have 100 contacts added, each contact can receive one email and text every 30 days. ‘Irrespective of location’ means that even if the same contact is added to multiple locations, the contact will still receive one email and text only, irrespective of the number of locations to which the contact has been added. ‘Irrespective of campaign type’ refers to contacts receiving only one campaign type in 30 days, whether it is a Referral, Survey, Review request, or any other type of campaign sent first.
Case No. 2
Click ‘irrespective of campaign type’ and switch to ‘For each campaign type.’
The settings in the image below suggest that ‘One email and text are allowed to be sent every 30 days per contact, irrespective of location and for each campaign type.’
‘For each campaign type’ refers to every type of campaign you create and send. For example, you create Referral, Survey, and Review request campaigns. Your contacts will receive one email and text every 30 days for all campaign types you created, irrespective of the locations to which the contact is added.
Case No. 3
Click ‘irrespective of campaign type’ and switch to ‘Per campaign type.’
Here, you can customize every campaign type based on your preferences. Toggle the switch to completely restrict communication for any campaign type. You can also select the number of days to send one email and text campaign per contact for any campaign type.
Surveys Restriction
You can now restrict survey communication either at the individual survey level, which is ‘Per survey’ or ‘Across all surveys.’ Based on the threshold you set, a contact will receive only one survey within that time frame — either per survey or across all surveys, depending on your selected setting.
To switch to ‘Across all surveys.’ Click the ‘per survey’ dropdown button and select ‘Across all surveys.’
You can override the survey restrictions within the survey automations by selecting the ‘Override communication restriction’ option. This feature is especially useful when you want to set a communication threshold at the individual survey level or allow a survey to be sent without being affected by global threshold settings.
You can choose to send the survey every time it is triggered, or use the dropdown to limit it to once within a set number of days.
Case No. 4
Click ‘irrespective of location’ and switch to ‘Per location.’
The settings in the image below suggest that ‘One email and text is allowed to be sent every 30 days per contact, per location, and irrespective of campaign type.’
For example, a contact is added to 5 different locations. This contact will receive one email and text for every location that he/she is added to with one campaign type (Any campaign type sent first)
Click ‘irrespective of campaign type,’ and you will also have the option to choose ‘For each campaign type and Per campaign type.’
