How to create and manage Google services under Listings?
Businesses can showcase their services and expertise on their Google Business Profiles (GBP) to attract the right prospects and convert them faster. Create and showcase a detailed list of services the business offers across locations on your GBP.
NOTE:
Google services view is only supported on mobile view and not on desktop view by Google.
Google Services
Head to the ‘Listings’ tab in the left navigation rail.
Click ‘Google services.’
On this page, you will view two sections: ‘All services’ and ‘Services by location.’ Under the All services section, you can view all the services your business provides under one page, along with the Service ID, Categories of the services, Locations that the services apply to, and Price of the service.
NOTE:
Once the Google page is connected for all active locations, any pre-existing services on the GBP listing will be synced in.
Hover over the ‘Three vertical dots,’ click ‘Actions’ to ‘Edit’ or ‘Delete’ the service. We will explore these actions below, under the ‘Add a service’ section.
Switch to the ‘Services by location’ section to view services provided at a location level. View the ‘Location’ name, the number of ‘Services’ offered under a particular location, and the ‘Service status.’
The below image suggests different types of ‘Service statuses’ and their ‘Descriptions.’
Hover over the ‘Three vertical dots’ and click ‘Actions’ to ‘View' or ‘Delete’ services. If you hover over the three vertical dots corresponding to the ‘Submitted’ service status, you will view an option to ‘Sync now’ along with ‘View’ and ‘Delete’ services.
Click ‘View services’ to view an exact representation of the services associated with that location(s), as it would be visible on your GBP listing page.
Clicking on ‘Delete all services’ will remove all associated services for the location from your GBP profile.
Add A Service
Click ‘Add a service’ on the top right corner to add a new service to your desired locations.
A drawer opens on the right side. In the first field, enter the name of the service to be offered.
NOTE:
Services have to be created with unique service names.
Enter the description of service under the ‘Service description’ field.
Click the ‘AI’ button to change the tone of the description, make it shorter or longer, and fix spelling and grammar errors.
NOTE:
AI will NOT generate the description, it must be entered manually. AI will only change the tone of the description.
Choose the type of service if it’s ‘Free’ or ‘Paid.’ In case of a paid service, it is mandatory to add a cost/price below.
NOTE:
The currencies supported will be based on the locations configured for that account.
If no categories are mapped to your business in the location's Birdeye Business Profile, click ‘Business profile’ as highlighted in the image below. It will redirect you to the ‘Your locations’ page. Select the desired location and ensure that you add Google categories, primary (1) and additional (9) per location, under the ‘Manage your business profile’ page.
If you have categories mapped, click ‘Select category’ and select the appropriate category for the service.
All associated active locations will appear in the select location dropdown basis category selection. Select the particular or all locations to which this service will be applicable and click ‘Save.’
You will view a toast message at the top of your screen stating that the service has been added to the selected location(s).
Hover over the ‘Three vertical dots’ and select ‘Edit’ to make changes in the service.
A drawer opens on the right side, and you can modify the ‘Service description, Type of service, Google category, Location, and Add another category.’ Click ‘Save’ to confirm the changes. You cannot edit the ‘Service name.’
NOTE:
If you modify any field and save the changes, the impact is seen across all locations that one service is mapped to.
Similarly, if you select ‘Delete’, it will remove the service across all locations that one service is mapped to.
NOTE:
- It is Mandatory that Google services are mapped to at least the primary category of a location before they are mapped to the additional category. Birdeye will allow creation but will not push data to Google until the location's associated primary category also has a service.
- No two services should have the same service name. It is recommended that all services created have unique service names.
- You can have two same services across two different categories, for example emergency counselling as a $100 paid service can be a service created mapped to category A - Mental health and category B - Psychotherapy - both categories being there for same location.
- You can select upto 10 categories in one shot during adding a service.
Click on the ‘Three vertical dots’ at the top right corner of your screen, then select ‘Sync now’ to synchronize services. Google services sync instantly, but if something feels amiss or if you have just rectified an error situation, you can use sync now.
