Enhancing Email Deliverability Metrics with Birdeye
Birdeye empowers businesses to optimize campaign performance. In the realm of digital marketing, email campaigns serve as invaluable tools for businesses to engage with customers and drive conversions. However, ensuring that these emails reach their intended recipients and resonate positively is crucial. As part of email deliverability compliance, it is imperative to monitor various metrics that indicate user behavior and email performance. To address this need comprehensively, Birdeye is introducing enhancements to its platform, offering marketers a more insightful understanding of their email campaigns.
The Challenge: Tracking Key Metrics
Marketers understand the importance of monitoring metrics such as unsubscribe rates, bounce rates, blocked rates, and spam rates to gauge the effectiveness of their email campaigns. However, existing tools often lack the capability to provide comprehensive insights into these crucial aspects.
What is Email Deliverability?
Deliverability refers not only to getting your messages accepted by mailbox providers but also to reaching your recipients’ inboxes — not their spam or junk folders.
To view your Deliverability Metrics:
Log in to the Birdeye dashboard and navigate to 'Campaigns' from the left navigation rail. Below your Automations, select the Automation for which you want to view the Deliverability Metrics.
Alternatively, hover over the three dots against the automation, and you will view two options: 'Actions' and 'View Details.' Click on 'View Details,' and the screen will display the details.
Unsubscribed: It refers to recipients opting out of further communication from a sender. Reasons include irrelevant content, excessive frequency, or changes in preferences. This metric is crucial for senders to ensure compliance, maintain list health, gauge engagement, and preserve sender reputation.
Bounce & Blocked: The Bounced & Blocked metric indicates the percentage of messages that failed to be delivered.
- Bounce: A message bounces when it's sent to an invalid or deactivated email address. Birdeye automatically manages suppression for bounced addresses.
- Block: A block occurs when a message fails to deliver due to content, reputation, or technical issues rather than an invalid address.
Spam: It refers to unwanted bulk emails sent without consent, often due to poor list management or deceptive practices. The spam rate should be < 0.3%, making it crucial to monitor spam complaints for sender compliance, reputation, and user experience, as they indicate issues with targeting and list quality.
Introducing Solution: Enhanced Metrics Tracking
Birdeye is proud to unveil enhancements that allow marketers to track three additional metrics: Unsubscribe Rate, Bounce & Blocked Rate, and Spam Rate. These metrics provide actionable insights into user behavior and email deliverability, enabling marketers to refine their strategies for optimal results.
Integration Across Campaign Types
These enhanced metrics will be seamlessly integrated into all automation and campaign types supported by Birdeye. Whether it's a promotional campaign, transactional message, or informational newsletter, marketers can now access detailed analytics to refine their email outreach strategies.
Channel Specific Metrics
To ensure relevance, these metrics will only be displayed if the campaign type includes email as one of the selected channels. This targeted approach ensures that marketers receive pertinent insights tailored to their chosen communication channels.
Transitioning Channels
In scenarios where a campaign type initially included email as a channel but has since transitioned to text-only, the enhanced metrics will still be available if they have non-zero values. This ensures that historical data remains accessible for analysis and comparison.
Exclusion of Gmail Mailbox
It's essential to note that some mailbox providers, such as Gmail, do not return spam complaints. As a result, the Spam Rate metric may not fully represent the complete picture for campaigns targeting Gmail users.
Conclusion
By incorporating these enhanced metrics into its platform, Birdeye empowers marketers to make data-driven decisions and optimize the performance of their email campaigns. From reducing unsubscribe rates to mitigating deliverability issues, these insights enable marketers to refine their strategies and enhance customer engagement. With Birdeye's comprehensive analytics, marketers can unlock new opportunities for success in their email marketing endeavors.
