Bulk contact upload template: Do's and Don'ts
Business owners have the ability to upload their customer contact list into the Birdeye dashboard and send out reviews, surveys, customer experiences or referral requests. For this, you need to upload a Birdeye specified Excel file with the customer data. If you are facing any challenges uploading the file, here are a few things that you can do to troubleshoot.
-
Make sure the file that you are uploading is the right format: To download the template from your account, go to the 'Contacts' page and click on the 'Add contacts' drop-down button.
Select the 'Bulk import' option.
Now, click on the 'sample spreadsheet' button to download the bulk contact upload template.
You can use the different fields in the Excel file to add information for different customers.
Remember that data uploaded using only this format will be uploaded correctly into the system. - Data being uploaded should be clean:
- Before uploading the Excel file, make sure that you have entered all the fields correctly and ensure that there are no extra spaces before or after you have entered the customer information in the allotted fields.
- Special characters like # or & or % are seen as junk. Ensure that your data does not contain these or any such characters.
- Extra spaces within email IDs (Eg: justinholland 200@gmail.com) can also cause the data to be seen as junk by the system and prevent it from uploading.
