Yelp Messaging is now available in Inbox. Customers using Inbox with Yelp integration can view and manage both Yelp reviews and direct messages from a single interface.
This update brings all Yelp communication into one place, allowing teams to respond to messages, track conversations, and monitor activity without switching platforms. Yelp interactions are also supported in Inbox reporting and notifications.
IMPORTANT: Yelp messaging may require a one-time setup depending on your current integration status:
If your Yelp account is already connected for reviews, you must complete a one-time reauthorization to enable messaging
If you are connecting to Yelp for the first time, messaging is enabled as part of the standard integration setup (no additional steps required)

Businesses that have already connected their Yelp account for reviews must complete a one-time reauthorization to enable messaging.
Reauthorization must be performed by the same Birdeye user who completed the initial setup
Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Yelp
Log in using a Yelp account that has access to all business pages
Grant the required permissions, including the Leads scope
Log in to the dashboard and click the Settings icon in the top-right corner.
Select Integrations from the left navigation panel.
Click Yelp.
Click Connect Yelp.
You will be redirected to the Yelp login page.
Log in using a user account that has access to all Yelp business pages.
When prompted, grant permission for the Leads scope.
Click Continue to authorize and complete the setup.
For new Yelp integrations, this process includes all required permissions, and no additional steps are needed to enable messaging.
Inbox Overview
Yelp messages appear in the Dashboard Inbox with two-way sync. Messages and replies are reflected across both Yelp and Inbox. Inbox filters also support Yelp as a source for easier conversation management.
Reporting
Yelp is included as a source in channel-based Inbox reporting. This enables users to track and analyze Yelp message activity directly within the Dashboard.
Notification Settings
Users can manage channel-based notifications for new and unresponded Yelp messages within the Dashboard by navigating to Settings, Account, Users, Manage User, and Inbox Alerts.
Yelp Page
To sync leads with Birdeye, your business must have the Request a Quote (RAQ) feature enabled on your Yelp profile. This feature allows customers to initiate inquiries directly from Yelp, with all subsequent conversations seamlessly managed within the Birdeye Inbox.
