How to View the Accuracy Report of Business Information in Search AI

Updated today

Search AI is Birdeye’s AI-powered search optimization platform designed to help multi-location businesses stay visible in the age of AI-driven discovery. As engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity reshape how consumers find and choose brands, traditional SEO alone is no longer enough. With Search AI, businesses can discover how they appear in AI-generated answers, track brand mentions and rankings across platforms, and gain actionable insights to enhance their visibility. This guide will walk you through how to use Search AI to understand your presence, optimize performance, and ensure your brand becomes the go-to answer in AI search.

Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, and Grok Support

The Accuracy report includes expanded platform coverage and flexible reporting views to help you analyze your performance more effectively.

You can now include Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, and Grok in your reporting by selecting them in the Search AI report configuration settings.

Once enabled, data from these platforms will be reflected alongside ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity across the report, giving you a more complete view of how your brand appears in AI-generated answers.

NOTE:

All reports—Citations, Visibility, Ranking, Accuracy, and Sentiment—will reflect data from the selected AI sites, including these newly added Google AI and Grok experiences.

Brand and Location-Level Reporting

You can now analyze citation data at both the brand level and location level:

  • Use the By brand and By location toggle available in the top right corner of the report to switch between views.

  • The brand view provides a consolidated performance overview across all locations.

  • The location view allows you to drill down into individual location performance.

This gives you two perspectives of the same report, helping you understand both overall brand visibility and location-specific performance.

Check the Accuracy of Business Information

The ‘Accuracy’ tab shows how accurate your business information appears across AI sites.

At the top, you’ll see the summary section, which gives:

  • Overall accuracy across all AI platforms.

  • Accuracy scores for each AI engine (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity).

Check Accuracy by Field

Below the summary, you can see how accurate each business field is across AI platforms.

Fields include Business name, Full address, Phone number, Hours of operation, and Website link. Each field shows the percentage of locations where that detail is accurate, broken down by ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. This view can also include Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, and Grok if selected in your report configuration.

IMPORTANT:

In some cases, hours of operation may appear incorrect across AI platforms even when accurate information is available in Birdeye or Google Business Profile.

This can happen when:

- The source webpage does not list business hours.

- Different platforms use varying formats (e.g., “12 AM – 12 AM” vs. “Open 24 hours”).

- AI engines rely on multiple external sources and may not interpret or prioritize the correct data consistently.

Since AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity aggregate information from various sources, discrepancies can occur if source data is missing, inconsistent, or formatted differently.

To improve accuracy:

- Ensure business hours are clearly defined and consistent across all platforms.

- Avoid ambiguous formats and use standard representations (e.g., “Open 24 hours”).

- Regularly monitor accuracy in the Accuracy tab and update discrepancies at the source.

Check Accuracy by Location

You can also view accuracy at the location level. The table lists each location alongside its accuracy percentages on ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

Hover over a location and click ‘View details’ to see a breakdown of which business fields (name, address, phone, etc.) are accurate or need updates.

After you click View details, you land on the accuracy page for that specific location.

You’ll see a heatmap of each business field (Business name, Full address, Phone number, Hours of operation, Website link) across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

In this example, the ‘Website link’ is not accurate on Perplexity, while the other fields are accurate.

Scroll to What info do AI sites show compared to Birdeye profile?

It shows exactly what each AI site is displaying, alongside the count of Citations for that site. In this example, the 'Website link' under Perplexity is inaccurate (different from the Birdeye profile), while the other fields match.

If you notice inaccurate details, you can trace where they are coming from.

  • In the Citations row, click the linked number (e.g., 2 Citations under Perplexity).

  • This opens the list of sources that AI platforms used to pull the displayed information.

Once you’ve identified the citation sources that provided wrong details:

  • Visit the citation link to check what information is incorrect (e.g., wrong website URL).

  • Take action on the external site to correct the error.

  • If the inaccurate data is coming from your own Birdeye profile, go to Settings > Business> Select appropriate business location > Business Profile Page, and update the details directly.
