How can I change the business hierarchy within my account?
Every business has its own organizational structure. Keeping this in mind, Birdeye gives all businesses the ability to customize their hierarchy so they can run filters based on that hierarchy. The default hierarchy defined by Birdeye for businesses is - State, City, and Location. However, you also have the provision to set up a custom hierarchy for your business so that you can run the filters to pull data from the Birdeye dashboard as per your company's structure.
To customize your hierarchy within the dashboard, follow these simple steps:
Go to ‘Settings’ tab on the left navigation rail of the dashboard. On the new screen, click on the 'Actions' drop-down button.
Select the 'Manage Hierarchy' option.
On the new screen, click on the ‘Download’ button after which the Excel sheet will be downloaded on to your system.
On this excel sheet, you can update your existing hierarchy or can establish a new hierarchy altogether. The sheet also allows you to define hierarchy levels and set up the level names. Level 0 will be the name of the business while level 4 will be the kind of enterprise it is i.e. location-based enterprise or product-based enterprise. After you are done setting up the hierarchy levels, click on ‘Manage Hierarchy’.
This will open a second sheet having three levels- Region, State, and City. The location name and business IDs will already be populated on this sheet. You have the ability to set up all the values that go into these levels. For example Region 1, 2, 3 and so on, State 1,2,3, and so on and City 1,2, 3 and so on
After you have customized the hierarchy in the Excel sheet, you can upload the Excel file by clicking on the ‘Upload excel’ button next to the 'Download template' button. The blue band represents that your file is being uploaded.
If the file is successfully uploaded, you will view a green band.
You will need to logout from your account and log back in to see the changes that have been recently made.
After you have logged back in, you will be able to see the changes under the ‘Filters’ tab on the right. Your newly defined hierarchy will be displayed.
