Integrating Birdeye with Salesforce
Salesforce is a popular cloud-based CRM software (CRM) for support, sales, and marketing teams worldwide. Salesforce services allow businesses to use cloud technology to better connect with partners, customers, and potential customers.
Birdeye can seamlessly integrate with your Salesforce account and send out review solicitations to your clients automatically. Integrating Salesforce with Birdeye will automate the process of sending out review requests to patients daily.
Birdeye allows you to fetch data from your CRM using a predefined trigger. Here are the supported triggers for Salesforce:

To set up the initial part of the integration with Birdeye, please reach out to the Birdeye technical support team @ 1-800-561-3357 Ext. 3 or email them at - support@birdeye.com. After the initial integration is set up by the Birdeye technical support team, you can log in to your Birdeye account to complete the integration process.
To complete the process, click on the ‘Settings’ tab located on the left navigation rail of your Birdeye dashboard. Click on the ‘Business Profile’ under the ‘Profile’ section.
Click on the specific location for which you have set up the integration.
Once you click on a particular location, it will redirect you to that location. Now, scroll down to the ‘CRM Integrations’, and click on the ‘Authorize’ button to authorize the business.
After you click on the authorization button, you will be redirected to the Salesforce website. Enter the email address and password associated with your Salesforce account and Click on ‘Sign in.’
Once you have signed in to your Salesforce account, Birdeye will ask for certain permissions to obtain client data from your Salesforce account. Click on the ‘Allow Access’ button at the bottom to complete the integration process.
After the access has been granted, you will be redirected to the Birdeye dashboard, and an 'Authorized' message will appear right next to Salesforce.
BIRDEYE SURVEY AND REVIEW CUSTOM FIELD
Enabling the Birdeye Survey and Review Custom Field and configuring its permissions:
We are taking an example of Survey Writeback here,
When selecting the Survey Writeback Trigger, a field becomes visible in the group properties known as the 'Survey Custom' field. In this field, you need to enter the name of the Survey Custom field that is to be created in Salesforce. The name should be obtained from the client.
Follow the below steps:
Login to Salesforce using the credentials.
Click on the ‘Settings’ icon at the top-right corner. Select ‘Setup’ from the dropdown menu.
Click on ‘Object Manager.’
In the Object Manager, use the search bar to find and click on the ‘Contact’ option.
Within the Contact settings, click on ‘Fields and Relationships.’
In the Object Manager, utilize the search bar to look for your designated survey custom field.
For example, ‘BE_Survey’
To illustrate,
- Suppose you are searching for the custom field ‘BE_Survey.’
- Enter ‘BE_Survey’ in the search bar and initiate the search.
- The search results will display a list of survey custom fields, including the one you specified.
- Review the list and click on the specific survey custom field you intend to enable for the client.
- By clicking on the chosen field, you can proceed to enable it for the client within the Salesforce settings.
Within the selected custom field, click on ‘Set Field-Level Security.’
To define permissions:
Choose the ‘Visible’ and ‘Read-Only’ options to grant the necessary permissions for Birdeye survey writeback to Salesforce.
Page Layout Permissions:
- Navigate to the home screen.
- Choose ‘Page Layouts’ and apply the following procedures for each layout: ‘Contact (Marketing) Layout,’ ‘Contact (Sales) Layout,’ ‘Contact (Support) Layout,’ and ‘Contact Layout.’
For each layout, drag and drop the survey custom fields (e.g., 'BE_Survey_Response1') into the 'Description Information' field.
After arranging the fields, click on 'Quick Save' to save the changes. Confirm that the custom fields are appropriately grayed out, indicating successful configuration.
Apply the same procedure for the remaining survey custom fields (a total of 4) in each layout.
Check the visibility of the survey custom fields in the customer contact tab to ensure successful integration.
Ensure you have admin permissions to avoid errors, as field labels may not be displayed without the required permissions.
