How do I edit a survey response?

Birdeye allows you to update submitted survey responses to reflect your customer’s latest sentiment. If a customer accidentally selects the wrong rating or later clarifies their feedback, you can edit eligible responses from the survey response details.

IMPORTANT: Only users with the Admin or Owner role can edit survey responses.

Edit a survey response

Sign in to Birdeye using an Admin or Owner role.

From the left navigation, go to Surveys.

Open the survey you want to edit by clicking the survey name, or search for the survey using the Search icon. You can also click the three dots icon and select View response to view its responses.

The list of responses appears. Click the response you want to edit.

Click the three dots icon in the top-right corner and select Edit response.

Edit the NPS or Rating question as needed.

Click Save.

The updated rating is saved, and an Edited label appears on the response.

To see who last edited the response, hover over the Edited label. The name of the last editor appears.

What responses can I edit?

You can edit answers to NPS and Rating questions in a survey response.

Other question types are not editable.

How does editing a response affect reporting?

When you edit a response, Birdeye recalculates the relevant reporting based on the updated rating.

For example, if a customer originally submits a rating of 10 but the rating is later changed to 3, reporting is updated based on the new rating.
